As the Port of Skagen is lacking space for its industrial activities, the port authority wishes to expand towards the south west.
This will serve to strengthen its position as 丹麦’s leading fishing harbour. The project consists of the building of rubble mound breakwaters, and the reclamation of approximately 800.000 m3 of sand – this will include an environmental impact assessment (EIA). With additional land development in the area, the port expansion will cover 11 hectares (110,000 m2).
The port of Skagen is an active commercial harbour well frequented by fishing vessels, and with extensive fish processing facilities as well as a shipyard with associated service companies. The port wishes to make sure of their position as 丹麦's leading fishing harbour by continuously developing the facilities. This will be done in a balanced manner in order to suit customer needs relating to fishing and other business areas.
